AACUC Mentoring Programs, News and Events
The Mentoring Committee enhances current efforts within the movement to provide mentoring services to credit unions both inside and outside of the United States. The Committee has adopted as its focus the African Development Fund, which mentors credit unions in South Africa.

- Helen Godfrey-Smith, Chair of the AACUC Mentorship Committee and President/CEO of Shreveport Federal Credit Union, gave presentations on Lending and Collections to the Association of Co-operative Credit Union Presidents in Tobago on Friday, October 14. This is one of AACUC's commitments to working at the international level to help develop and expand the credit union movement.

- The Mentoring Committee has partnered with the World Council of Credit Unions Foundation and NCUF to not only host an intern, but engage in the development of the African Credit Union movement. Willie Wellington Yao Ahli will participate in an internship with Vantage Credit Union in St. Louis, MO April 2011. Willie is the Deputy General Manager of Ghana Co-operative Credit Union Association, which is equivalent to Missouri Credit Union Association (MCUA). Willie will participate in the Development Educators Program in partnership with National Credit Union Foundation (NCUF) and the World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU) in early April and upon completion, will begin his internship with Vantage CU.
