Michael Richardson has been a positive force in the credit union industry for almost 40 years. He currently holds the position of VP of Community Relations at Mid-Atlantic Federal Credit Union (MAFCU). Before stepping into his current leadership role, he was the VP/Chief Lending Officer at MAFCU for 31 years-- responsible for the daily administration of all Consumer, Business, Real Estate, Credit Card and Indirect Auto loans as well as the collection efforts of each. Prior to joining MAFCU, he worked at Navy FCU for 5 years and served 4 years in the USAF Security Service. 

In addition to his work at MAFCU, Michael is the President of Board of Directors for AACUC’s Eastern Regional Chapter. He is also on the Executive Board and is Co-Chair of the Program Committee for the Coalition for the Advancement of Financial Education (CAFÉ)MontgomeryCounty.  He also serves on the Advisory Board for the MCPS National Academy Foundation (NAF) Academy of Finance (AOF) and is a current member of the 2012 Sr. Leadership Montgomery Class.  He has also served as a member of the Board of Directors for the First Combined Community FCU, as Chairman of its Credit Committee; as Treasurer for MAFP, a for-profit Credit Union Service Organization which provides Commercial and Small Business Lending options for the community; was the Secretary of the Asset Liability Committee (ALCO) for 10 years; was a former NAFCU Certified Compliance Office; was a member of the Operations Committee for the Credit Union Auto Loan Network and Mid-Atlantic CU Management Association and has served as a member of the CUNA Lending Council.

Most recently, Michael has been named Volunteer of the Year for Interfaith Works – a non-profit community organization that serves as a safety net provider for the residents ofMontgomery County,MD.

Michael is married, has two adult children both married and two grandchildren.
