Blesson Abraham is the CEO and co-founder of AviaryAI, a Y Combinator-backed company helping credit unions use AI voice agents to expand member outreach, improve service, and operate more efficiently. Before Aviary, Blesson spent five years in leadership roles at Baxter Credit Union and founded SavvyIntel, a data and analytics platform acquired by TruStage. He later started Cambio to help consumers improve their financial health, which led to the development of AI voice technology now powering Aviary. His work focuses on helping credit unions adopt AI safely, practically, and in ways that advance their mission.
Whitney Anderson is the Chief Growth Officer at Sunward. A visionary leader with over 15 years of executive experience in credit unions, finance, and retail sales, she has driven transformative initiatives at nationally recognized institutions as CEO of Elements Financial and as Chief Community Development Officer at Michigan State University Federal Credit Union (MSUFCU). Her career accomplishments include spearheading initiatives that resulted in significant membership growth, optimizing lending portfolios, and championing equity and inclusion across organizations. She is a dedicated advocate for community-focused financial services and is actively involved in service organizations such as the AACUC and the Links, Inc.
Beverly Anderson has more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry and is the President and Chief Executive Officer of BECU. As CEO of the fourth largest credit union in the United States, she is responsible for all aspects of leading an organization with more than 1.5 million members and $29.4 billion in assets. Beverly’s core areas of focus include strategy development and sustainable growth, overseeing daily operational activities, and fostering BECU’s culture of promoting the financial well-being of its members and communities.
DaeSean Ashby is the Director of State Advocacy for the Michigan Credit Union League (MCUL), where he leverages his extensive legislative background to champion credit union initiatives. A Detroit native, DaeSean earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in political science from Central Michigan University. His career includes service in the U.S. Navy Reserves (2015–2019) and roles as a policy analyst for the Michigan House of Representatives and a contract lobbyist. Deeply passionate about civic engagement and alleviating income disparities, he focuses on equitable advocacy. In his free time, DaeSean is an avid gamer and tech enthusiast.
Priscilla Awkard is Vice President of Retail Branches and Digital Sales at Coastal Credit Union, where she leads efforts to drive growth, enhance member experience, and align branch and digital channels to meet evolving member needs. With a focus on intentional development, operational excellence, and team engagement, Priscilla is known for her ability to translate strategy into results. She is passionate about building strong teams, fostering meaningful member relationships, and delivering consistent, high-quality service across all channels.
Ashley Beach Reid is a strategic advisor, leadership developer, and entrepreneur focused on strengthening small credit unions and the communities they serve. As Small Credit Union Strategic Advisor and Future Fund Program Director for AACUC, she leads initiatives in leadership development, financial sustainability, and community impact. She also founded It’s Your Strategy, a consulting and coaching practice that helps credit unions execute strategic initiatives and develop emerging leaders. With experience in executive leadership, governance, and operations, Ashley is known for turning vision into action. She is passionate about helping leaders grow with clarity, confidence, and purpose.
Jaylen Boney serves as the Relationship Manager and Community Engagement Liaison for the Virginia market at Chartway Credit Union, where he advances a strategy focused on underserved communities while mentoring peers and championing advocacy. A graduate of Morehouse College and member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated, Jaylen is passionate about coaching teams and building effective, purpose-driven habits within the credit union movement. Jaylen is the recipient of AACUC’s 2026 Young Professional of the Year Award and was selected by The League of Credit Unions & Affiliates to represent the state of Virginia within its Emerging Professional Network LEADs Program cohort.
Sedric Brinson serves as the Director of League Engagement at America’s Credit Unions. He is a values-driven leader guided by the Golden Rule and a passion for helping people succeed. With more than 23 years in financial services, he brings a unique perspective to the credit union movement as a former banker committed to advancing the mission of people helping people. Sedric is dedicated to expanding financial opportunity and strengthening communities. He earned his C.U.D.E. designation in 2017 and graduated from the Southwest Credit Union Management School at TCU in 2019.
Maricela Castillo is Lead Research Consultant, Multicultural Business Strategy at TruStage. She has been involved with the credit union movement since 2017 as an intern with TruStage. In 2022, Maricela earned the Credit Union Development Educator designation and received the AACUC CTC Young Professionals Mindful Leadership Award. As a young professional in the credit union movement, she is focusing on multicultural communities and how to make a brighter financial future more accessible for everyone. Her passion for research and creating a positive experience for multicultural communities is what drives her.
Erin Coleman is Vice President of Industry Impact at Callahan & Associates and Vice-Chair of the AACUC Southern Regional Chapter. A strategic facilitator and thought leader, Erin works with credit union boards and leadership teams to turn complexity into shared clarity and purposeful action. Her work is grounded in a deep belief in cooperative finance as a vehicle for building intergenerational wealth and advancing equity for all families. Erin is proud to have served the credit union system for more than 30 years, centering inclusion and belonging as the heart of everything she does.
Maurice Dawkins began his credit union career in 2001 at American Spirit Federal Credit Union (ASFCU) as the Vice-President of Operations and was promoted to President and CEO in 2003. Under his direction, ASFCU has grown from a single sponsor credit union to a full-service credit union servicing the underserved, as well as the underbanked community and small businesses. Maurice serves on the AACUC Board of Directors as Nominating Committee Chair and is an African-American Credit Union Hall of Fame inductee.
Duane C. Day serves as Vice President of Electronic & Deposit Support Services at MECU Credit Union, where he leads digital banking, payments, card services, and deposit operations. With more than 25 years of credit union experience, he specializes in operational strategy, payments modernization, and member experience transformation. Duane has led initiatives that streamlined online account opening, enhanced fraud monitoring, and expanded digital service delivery. A former Army Reservist, he serves as an Advisory Board Member of the Maryland & DC Credit Union Association’s Baltimore Chapter and is Co-Chair of the African-American Credit Union Coalition’s Mentorship Program.
Nina Delos Santos serves as the Senior Administrative Assistant to the senior leadership team at Greylock Federal Credit Union. A Certified Credit Union Financial Counsel and AACUC DEI Leadership Academy for Financial Professionals graduate, Nina integrates high-level executive support with a steadfast commitment to financial wellness and inclusive leadership. She is a dedicated advocate for organizational culture, co-chairing the Emerging Leaders ERG and serving on the Cultural Advisory Committee. Passionate about professional growth, she mentors colleagues through the Elevation program. She also serves on the Board of Directors for Berkshire County Head Start and the Williams Elementary School Council.
Anthony Demangone is the Chief Membership and Engagement Officer for America's Credit Unions, where he leads membership growth, engagement, advocacy, and strategic relationships initiatives. With more than 20 years of experience in credit unions and credit union associations, Anthony brings a unique combination of operational leadership, governance expertise, and industry insight. He began his credit union career at Congressional Credit Union before becoming a credit union compliance attorney. Anthony is the author of two books, creator of influential leadership and compliance blogs, host of America's Credit Unions' podcast A Seat at the CU Table, and a frequent speaker and moderator at industry events.
The career of Gail Devers was one of perseverance and dominance in women’s track and field. A career that saw her compete until the age of 40, Devers is a three-time Olympic gold medalist and 13-time World Indoor and Outdoor medalist. In 1991, near the beginning of her career, Devers was diagnosed with Graves Disease and began radiation treatment as doctors threatened to amputate her feet. Devers recovered to become one of the most dominant sprinters and hurdlers of her time.
She won the 1992 Olympic gold medal in the 100m along with gold medals in the 100m and 4x100m in 1996. At the World Outdoor Championships she won three gold medals in the 100m hurdles (‘93, ‘95, ‘99) along with a gold medal in the 100m in 1993 and 4x100m in 1997. She won World Indoor Championships gold three times in the 60m (‘93, ‘97, ‘04) and one in the 60m hurdles (‘03).
In 2007, at the age of 40, Devers won the 60m hurdles at the Millrose Games in 7.86 seconds, which was the fastest time in the world that year. A 10-time USA Outdoor 100m hurdles champion, she is a two-time winner of the ESPY for Women’s Track & Field Athlete of the Year. In 2013, she was awarded the NCAA Silver Anniversary Award, an award presented to six distinguished former college student-athletes on the 25th anniversary of their college sports careers.
Sydni Fomas Do is a fifth-year Ph.D. candidate in Marketing at the University of Arizona. Her research investigates how consumers navigate complex marketplace environments and how these experiences shape their well-being. She is particularly interested in work with both theoretical and practical relevance, exploring how marketplaces can foster financial wellness, enhance accessibility, and promote inclusion. Her research has been recognized with the American Marketing Association Marketing and Society Special Interest Group Doctoral Scholarship Award and several competitive research grants. Her work has appeared in the Journal of the Association for Consumer Research and Current Opinion in Psychology.
Deborah Fears serves as President/CEO of the Chicago Post Office Employees Credit Union. With over 15 years of experience in credit unions, she became CEO in 2020. Deborah holds a bachelor’s degree in finance with minor studies in Japanese from DePaul University and an MBA focused in Business Strategy, both from DePaul University. She is a Certified Credit Union Executive and a Credit Union Development Educator. Deborah serves on various credit union committees and boards within the industry, including as President of the AACUC Midwest Regional Chapter and has a strong belief in the credit union mission of ‘People Helping People’.
Helen Godfrey-Smith is the retired President/CEO of Shreveport Federal Credit Union, where she led a remarkable turnaround—from a $1.9 million institution to a thriving $108 million credit union serving communities across Louisiana and Mississippi. She was appointed to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau during the Obama Administration and has held leadership roles with the National Cooperative Business Association, the Louisiana Credit Union League, AACUC, and Inclusiv. Helen holds a bachelor’s degree from Huston-Tillotson College, is a Certified Credit Union Executive and International Credit Union Development Educator, and is a graduate of United Theological Seminary. Helen is a co-founder of the AACUC and the creator of the African-American Credit Union Hall of Fame award program.
Ivy Glover, CDP, CCUFC serves as the Director of Community Impact and Development at Wright-Patt Credit Union (WPCU) and Executive Director of the WPCU Sunshine Community Fund®. She leads strategies advancing community impact, member financial wellbeing, development, and inclusion, and previously directed the nationally recognized Savings Race® financial literacy program. Ivy also spent seven years as Director of Marketing and Communication for Community Action Partnership of the Greater Dayton Area, leading engagement initiatives. She serves on the Habitat for Humanity Board and the Miami Valley Urban League Advisory Board as President. Ivy earned a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication from Wright State University.
Omari Hall is a Detroit native and Community Inclusion Insights Specialist at GreenPath Financial Wellness whose work blends community building, human-centered design, and financial wellness. Grounded in community organizing and trust-based partnership, he helps translate lived experience into strategy, shaping partner pathways, community engagement, and more equitable approaches to financial health. He helps lead research, testing, and community-centered innovation focused on making complex financial journeys feel clearer, more human, and more accessible. In 2021, he was honored as the National Foundation for Credit Counseling Advocate of the Year for expanding access to financial opportunity in communities too often overlooked.
Michelle D. Hare is Senior Vice President of Culture and Belonging at VyStar Credit Union, bringing more than 25 years of experience across financial services, insurance, and consumer packaged goods. Previously, Michelle led philanthropic and community partnerships at The Coca-Cola Company and progressed through multiple roles at State Farm, including claims, public affairs, recruiting, and marketing. A sought-after public speaker, she has appeared at the ESSENCE Festival and the nationwide Together Live Tour. A former professional dancer and wellness advocate, Michelle co-founded fitness and creative ventures, serves nonprofit organizations, and curated a photography exhibit highlighting Buffalo, New York’s East Side history.
Jimese Harkley is the CEO of Clarivere, a consulting and advisory firm focused on strategy, organizational transformation, community impact, and leadership development. With more than 20 years of executive experience in financial services and non-profit operations, she has led initiatives spanning growth strategy, community development, advocacy, philanthropy, and operational transformation. Known for her ability to connect vision with execution, Jimese helps organizations realize their unique value proposition, elevate operations, and build purpose-driven strategies that create measurable impact. Her strategic methodology blends bold leadership insights with practical approaches that inspire organizations, leaders, and communities to evolve and thrive.
Dr. Gamaliel Hassan is the CEO of Stima DT Sacco Limited in Kenya. He brings over 20 years’ work experience, with expertise in corporate and strategy, customer orientation and commercial awareness as well as communication, research, advocacy and networking. He holds a Ph.D. and an MBA in Strategic Management, a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, and is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Public Secretary. He is also a certified Financial Coach and has completed the Global CEO Programme from Yale School of Management. Dr. Hassan is a Credit Union Development Educator, an Advanced Africa Development Educator, and an African Development Educator.
Ben Hering serves as the Director of Partnerships for CUCollaborate and has worked in credit unions for nearly 15 years. In his current role, Ben leads partnerships, manages special projects and supports account management. He is an organizer of a de novo credit union, Arise Community Credit Union, and is on the board of the Association for Black Economic Power. He has worked for a credit union and at the state league in Minnesota. Ben graduated from the University of Minnesota. He has been recognized with the AACUC Commitment to Change Young Professional Leadership Award and as a Credit Union Rockstar.
Delana Huling is the President and CEO of Baylor Health Care System Credit Union, making history as its first African American CEO and the first African American female credit union CEO in the Dallas – Ft. Worth area. With over 20 years in the financial services industry, she has advanced from teller to CEO, building a distinguished career defined by strategic leadership, resilience, and impact. She serves on several local and national boards and contributes to several national leadership and advisory groups, including the Credit Union Women’s Leadership Alliance, Global Women’s Leadership Network, America’s Credit Unions Small Credit Union Committee, and TruStage Select Credit Union Council.
Chrystal Hunter is a seasoned program and events leader with over 20 years of professional experience, including more than nine years specializing in strategic event management and member engagement within the credit union industry. She leads the planning and execution of conferences, summits, and training programs that connect professionals and strengthen communities. Chrystal has managed large-scale events, launched initiatives like the THRIVE Summit, and supported logistics for high-profile participants, including Maryland Governor Wes Moore at CONNECT 2025. Known for passion and an ability to bring people together, she delivers meaningful experiences that drive engagement and support organizational goals.
Ralphe Jean-Poix also known as RJP is an award-winning international speaker and leadership development coach. His engaging and results driven approach has been captivating audiences for over a decade. Before pursuing coaching full time, he served as a Sr. Leadership Development Specialist as well as the DEI Manager at Suncoast Credit Union. During his seven years at Suncoast, he embraced the credit union philosophy of people helping people. His purpose in life is to equip leaders to transform environments. He lives by the quote, “If opportunity doesn’t knock, open the door and introduce yourself.”
Sarah L. Jess is a financial services leader with over 25 years of experience driving growth, building teams, and strengthening community-focused institutions. She began her career as a teller and advanced through multiple leadership roles including Chief Operating Officer, before moving into her current role as Strategic Account Manager with DedaSphere. Sarah has played a key role in launching numerous bank branches from the ground up and supporting multiple major acquisitions, expanding access to financial services in underserved communities. She is a diversity and inclusion champion and a five-time recipient of the Service Manager Excellence Award.
Karen “KJ” Johnson is a dynamic force in leadership, empowerment, and purpose-driven transformation. As Founder, CEO, and President of The Konfident Woman and Black Charity Boardroom, she equips high-achieving women of color to lead with confidence and create lasting impact. A sought-after executive coach and keynote speaker, KJ brings 30+ years of experience across corporate, nonprofit, and entrepreneurial sectors. Author of Poised & Positioned for Purpose, she introduces the W.O.M.A.N. Framework to help women own their voice and authority. A national voice and former NAWBO DFW President, KJ empowers women to rise boldly, lead unapologetically, and walk fully in purpose.
Brittany Kilgore serves as the Solutions Support Manager at Cornerstone Resources, where she leads internal client support initiatives that enhance organizational efficiency. With nearly a decade in credit union and bank staffing and over 20 years in sales and relationship management, she brings a people-first approach to everything she does. A proud Texas A&M University-Commerce alumna and Certified Staffing Professional, Brittany is passionate about mentoring the next generation of professionals and building workplaces where people and performance thrive together.
Kirk Kordeleski is a nationally respected credit union leader, mentor, advisor, and former CEO of Bethpage Federal Credit Union, now 4Leaf Credit Union, one of the largest credit unions in the United States. Over decades in the movement, Kirk helped lead one of the industry’s most successful growth stories while staying grounded in the cooperative mission. Today, he advises credit union CEOs, boards, executives, and emerging leaders on succession, executive retention, compensation, governance, fintech, and leadership development. Kirk is especially committed to mentoring the next generation and helping talented professionals prepare for C-suite and CEO roles.
Brittini Lacy is a seasoned financial services professional with 19 years of experience and a proven track record of developing high-performing teams. In her current role as Regional Director, Member Center Operations at Wright Patt Credit Union, she supports nine locations, driving operational excellence and sustainable growth. Guided by a servant leadership mindset, she is passionate about inspiring, coaching, and developing others to reach their full potential. As a professionally trained life coach, she excels at meeting individuals where they are and empowering them to succeed. Brittini is committed to fostering a culture of excellence while consistently delivering exceptional member service.
Jose Lara serves as President of SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union, where he leads member service, strategic planning, and operations to ensure organizational goals align with member needs. He oversees member experience, technology, strategic initiatives, branches, lending, the contact center, ATMs, payments, fraud, wealth management, retirement plan administration, and insurance. Jose earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from California State University, Fullerton. He holds a Series 7 license, is a graduate of Western CUNA Management School, and is a CUES Certified Chief Executive. Jose and his wife are proud parents of two adult children.
Rebekah Larson began her career in the financial industry while in college, where she developed a passion for financial education and the credit union mission of people helping people. She founded Firefly Consulting LLC to support credit unions through system configuration, optimization, and project delivery. Rebekah has built a strong, dedicated team focused on helping credit unions move initiatives forward with confidence. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her two kids, her two labs, and being out on the water fishing with her husband.
AJ Lotharp serves as an Account Manager at Trellance with over seven years of experience partnering with credit unions on enterprise software and data analytics solutions. He manages relationships with institutions ranging from $8M to $9B in assets and has consistently exceeded revenue goals through consultative, data‑driven engagement. AJ also serves as Communications Director for AACUC’S Texas Regional Chapter, where he supports member engagement and thought leadership. He brings a practitioner’s perspective and a commitment to meaningful dialogue to his role as panel moderator.
Cathie Mahon has led Inclusiv since 2012, overseeing a period of dramatic growth and expansion of the organization and network. She is committed to the Inclusiv mission of promoting financial inclusion and building more inclusive economies through community owned and controlled financial institutions. Cathie previously served as Deputy Commissioner at the NYC Department of Consumer Affairs, where she started and led the NYC Office of Financial Empowerment, the first local government initiative in the nation with a mission aimed expressly at helping to educate, empower and protect low income residents to help them make the most of their financial resources. Cathie is a 2022 African American Credit Union Hall of Fame inductee.
Andy Manthei is a Change Cultivator at GreenPath Financial Wellness with 17 years of experience helping people—and institutions—navigate financial decision-making. Drawing from his background as a GreenPath Financial Wellness Certified Counselor, credit union branch manager, and loan officer, Andy brings a systems-level view grounded in real human behavior. His work blends human-centered design, behavioral science, and empathy to help organizations differentiate in choice-saturated environments. A passionate IDEA Ally, Andy has led initiatives including “NIFF ty Financial Education,” Filene’s Racial Economic Equity Incubator, and multiple credit union growth and sustainability efforts.
Kevin Martin is the EVP, Strategic Integration & Member Experience at SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union, where he leads enterprise strategy, deposits strategy, innovation, organizational performance oversight, strategic execution, and member experience. Since joining SchoolsFirst in 2013, he has helped strengthen performance, lead complex enterprise change, and translate strategy into disciplined execution aligned with the organization’s mission. He has held leadership roles at Bank of America and is an experienced consultant and entrepreneur. A CUES CEO Institute graduate and Certified Diversity Professional, Kevin serves on the CURQL Collective board and is a nationally recognized voice on leadership, innovation, and inclusion in the credit union movement.
Dayatra (“Day”) Matthews is a seasoned legal executive with nearly 30 years of experience advising financial institutions, nonprofits, and individuals. As EVP, General Counsel & External Affairs for Civic Credit Union, she led teams across legal, risk, fraud, and impact, guiding a historic merger and large-scale systems conversion. A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill and Duke Law alumna, she is a Certified Credit Union Compliance Officer and has served as Past President of the Capital City Lawyers Association, the North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys, and the 10th Judicial District Bar and Board Director for America’s Credit Unions.
Ophelie Maurice is the Associate Director for Political Action and Engagement at America’s Credit Unions, where she helps lead a high-performing political action committee (PAC) program focused on strengthening political engagement with candidates and credit union advocates. Ophelie brings extensive experience in trade association PAC management, including compliance, strategic fundraising, and member education. With a strong background in political fundraising and operations, she helps deliver engagement initiatives that advance organizational priorities and produce measurable results. Ophelie is a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University, where she earned a B.A. in Political Science.
Bob McKay has served as President and CEO of Together Credit Union since 2015. Under his leadership, Together completed a historic rebrand, expanded investments in the St. Louis region, and earned honors including Forbes’ “Best Credit Union in Missouri” and “Top Workplace” recognition from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Bob was also recently named to the St. Louis Business 500 for his impact on the region’s business and financial services community. He started his credit union career at Baxter Credit Union and has actively served on numerous civic, philanthropic and industry boards. He holds degrees from Washington University in St. Louis and Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management.
Heather McKissick is CEO of CUES, an organization dedicated to advancing credit unions through leadership development. Before joining CUES, Heather was an EVP at University Federal Credit Union in Austin, Texas, where she worked for nine years. With a passion for people and service, Heather is an experienced advocate and community leader. She served as a volunteer and then as CEO of Leadership Austin, one of the top civic leadership programs in the United States. Her more than 30-year professional career includes the not-for-profit sectors of healthcare, regional government, higher education, financial education and leadership development.
Mike Mercer is the Founder/CEO of COOPR8 Consulting. He has dedicated his career to advancing the capabilities of American credit unions in fulfilment of their mission to improve the financial well-being of people. He has become a champion for the cooperative business model, regarding it as the best foundation for delivering value fairly to the members. He has received numerous awards of appreciation for his work, including the Herb Wegner lifetime achievement award. Mike was inducted into the Cooperative Hall of Fame. He was recognized with the Knights Cross, the highest governmental award to non-Polish citizens, for his work in Poland.
Cheryl Middleton Horton has served as Executive Vice President, Chief People Officer for Velera since January 2024. Prior to the PSCU/Co-op Solutions merger, she served as Chief People Officer at Co-op Solutions since November 2018, bringing more than 20 years of human resources and change management experience within large organizations to help lead Co-op’s transformation as a digital enterprise. Cheryl holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from North Carolina State University and Master of Business Administration in Organizational Behavior from the University of Michigan.
Barbara Mojica is the Executive Director of NLCUP, dedicated to expanding financial access and economic opportunity for underserved communities. With a career built entirely within the credit union movement, she combines hands-on industry experience with a strong academic foundation. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of North Carolina Pembroke, a Certificate in Cooperative and Credit Union Management from Saint Mary's University's Sobey School of Business, and the Credit Union Development Educator (CUDE) designation from the National Credit Union Foundation. Fully bilingual in English and Spanish, Barbara brings a culturally informed perspective to cooperative finance and community development.
Sheilah Montgomery, CUDE, CCE, is the retired President/CEO of Florida A&M University Federal Credit Union and a longtime leader in the credit union movement. She is a founding member of AACUC and has been recognized for mentoring small credit unions, advancing financial wellness, and championing community development initiatives, including CDFI and micro-lending programs. She is a Pete Crear Lifetime Achievement Award recipient and African American Credit Union Hall of Fame inductee.
Tyrone Muse has served as the President and CEO of Visions Federal Credit Union for 13 years, delivering on a brand of positivity, member focus, and growth. Deedee Myers, CEO of DDJ Myers, is known as a thought and practice leader in transformative change and organizational evolution for people and organizations. Her work with boards, executive teams, and staff results in progressive yet pragmatic communication and behavioral practices that add sustainable and intrinsic value. She is a catalyst for updating organizational structures that leverage people’s values. Aaliyah Nedd serves as Director of Government Relations for the National Cooperative Business Association (NCBA CLUSA). In this role, she leads NCBA’s federal, state, and local outreach and advocacy work to develop, advance, and promote cooperative enterprise. Prior to joining NCBA CLUSA, Aaliyah worked on a variety of policy issues at the National Association of Counties (NACo) including finance, tax, and environmental issues. Most recently she served as the Associate Legislative Director for Agriculture/Rural Affairs. Olivia Pearson serves as the Member Experience and Relations Program Officer for Inclusiv. In her role, she serves as the liaison for Inclusiv’s Southern region and New York member credit unions, provides support to MDIs and CDFIs in the Inclusiv network, and manages the Inclusiv Crashers program for young professionals. She has organized over 100 events and programs nationwide to increase access to education, food, financial services, and the arts for underserved communities. Olivia received a Bachelor of Arts in English and Comparative Women's Studies from Spelman College and a Master of Arts in African American and African Diaspora Studies from Columbia University.
Shelton Roulhac has more than 15 years of experience as a communications and public policy leader. As founder and principal at Thompson Roulhac Solutions, Shelton advises clients on strategic engagement with policymakers, crisis responses, and organizational messaging. Previously, Shelton served as the director of strategic communications at IREX – a global development organization, vice president of communications at the National Association of State Credit Union Supervisors, and as senior director of advocacy at America’s Credit Unions. Shelton holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
Renée Sattiewhite is the President/CEO of the AACUC, leading with passion and purpose to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion within the credit union movement. A recognized changemaker, Renée was awarded the inaugural national Neoteric Changemaker Award in 2023 and has received multiple honors, including the 2022 Anchor Award from the National Credit Union Foundation and the Distinguished Service Award from the African Cooperative Development Foundation. She was inducted to America’s Credit Union Museum’s inaugural Credit Union Women Making History...Herstory exhibit. Her services on national and international boards includes Climate United, ACCOSCA Foundation, America’s Credit Union Museum, Worldwide Foundation for Credit Unions, and CU4Kids.
Shirley Senn is Chief Community Impact Officer at New Orleans Firemen’s Federal Credit Union, where she champions financial inclusion, community impact, and the cooperative spirit of “people helping people.” A passionate advocate for small credit unions and underserved communities, Shirley combines expertise in CDFI development, grant writing, and asset liability management with a heart for service. She is founder of Purple Bridges and sponsor of the FI SAFE Initiative, supporting survivors through compassionate banking. Shirley is also co-founder of CU Spotlight and CU On the Road, initiatives dedicated to elevating credit union storytelling, community impact, and the voices transforming lives across the movement.
Troy Simons serves as Vice President of Service Center Operations at Suncoast Credit Union, the organization’s youngest and first African American male vice president. He is a visionary, grounded leader who brings passion, presence, and strategic focus. In 2024 he was awarded the AACUC Commitment to Change Young Professional of the Year Leadership Award. A devoted husband and father, Troy leads like a true point guard elevating others and is guided by the belief that “You must teach what has been taught.” Embracing the Mamba Mentality, he attacks each opportunity with discipline and purpose, knowing the journey is where true growth happens.
Scott Simpson is the President/CEO of America’s Credit Unions, which represents the unified voice of the entire credit union movement. Maurice Smith is the retired CEO of Local Government Federal Credit Union and Civic Federal Credit Union. Maurice and his wife have two children and live in Cary, North Carolina. He is a Deacon at Wake Chapel Church in Raleigh, North Carolina, and participates in several community and civic activities. He is a self-proclaimed cooperative nerd. He believes that a business model that empowers its members to engage in democratic, self-help, classless principles is superior to other business types. As a fan of credit union ideals, Maurice is avid about his beliefs for your members’ legacy. Maurice is a Past Chair of the AACUC Board of Directors, 2017 African American Credit Union Hall of Fame inductee, 2023 AACUC DEI Trailblazer Award recipient – renamed the Maurice R. Smith DEI Leadership Award in 2025 – and 2019 Pete Crear Lifetime Achievement Award recipient.
Dr. Brandi Stankovic is an organizational change expert, motivational speaker, artist and mom who inspires firms globally with her models of leadership and award-winning education. She is a Credit Union Development Educator, International Credit Union Development Educator (I-CUDE) and co-founder of CU Pride. Dr. Stankovic works closely with the African Confederation of Cooperative Savings (ACCOSCA) and World Organization Council of Credit Unions, helping advance young executives and women in leadership across the globe. In 2023, Dr. Stankovic was inducted into America’s Credit Union Museum Herstory for her profound impact on the movement.
With a professional career in financial services spanning over 30 years, Steven Stapp has held numerous executive positions with credit unions in California and Oregon. Steven joined Unitus Community Credit Union as President/CEO in September 2016. He has served on boards of local, national, and international credit union service organizations and nonprofit organizations including the World Council of Credit Unions. Steven received the World Council of Credit Unions Distinguished Service Award and the Reneé Sattiewhite Neoteric Changemaker Award in 2025 and the National Credit Union Foundation Herb Wegner Memorial Award in 2026.
Stephanie Sykes is Vice President of Government Relations and Public Policy at Navy Federal Credit Union, where she leads engagement across federal, state, and local levels to advance policy priorities. She previously served in senior roles in the Biden–Harris Administration, including Special Assistant to the President and Director of Intergovernmental Affairs for Infrastructure Implementation, helping coordinate the rollout of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. Earlier, she was the founding Executive Director and General Counsel of the African American Mayors Association. Stephanie holds degrees from Princeton University and Duke University School of Law.
Jasmine Taylor-Newton serves as Community and Program Coordinator for the Illinois Credit Union League. She served Great Lakes Credit Union for eight years before joining the Illinois Credit Union League in 2022 as Young Professional Liaison. Jasmine holds a master’s degree in Adult Education and Training. She was recognized as a 2020 Illinois Governmental Affairs Conference Crasher, Spirit of Service Award recipient, and 2026 AACUC Commitment to Change Young Professionals Leadership Brave Award recipient. An active industry leader, she is as an AACUC Midwest Regional Chapter Officer. She enjoys journaling, family game nights and time with her fur babies.
Born and raised in San Juan, Adrian Velazquez has built his career at the intersection of law, public policy, and advocacy. As Chief Advocacy Officer at the Cooperative Credit Union Association, he represents credit unions across four states. His public service includes roles as legislative counsel for the Massachusetts public defender agency and counsel to the Massachusetts Legislature Joint Committee on Financial Services, where he helped advance policies that broaden economic opportunity and strengthen communities. He hasadvised the United States Senate during Puerto Rico’s financial crisis and the recovery following Hurricane Maria. Adrian holds degrees from Harvard University and Suffolk University Law School.
Nancy Verre brings over 30 years of experience across high-performance financial markets, entrepreneurship, and transformational leadership. A decade trading in fast-moving markets forged her ability to stay grounded and decisive under pressure — a skillset that translates directly to the accountability and performance challenges credit unions face today. With an MBA in Finance and deep expertise in leadership development, Nancy partners with credit union executives and teams to uncover the constraints that limit growth, restore integrity at every level, and build cultures where people and performance thrive together. She is a Transformational Leadership Consultant with Leaders Team, based in Atlanta.
Anthony L. Ware II is a seasoned financial services and legislative advocacy professional originally from Los Angeles, CA. His credit union experience began in 2006 with Red River Federal Credit Union and includes Campus Federal Credit Union. His work has consistently focused on member engagement, growth, and operational excellence. He now serves as Senior Director of Legislative Advocacy at Luminate (Louisiana Credit Union Association). A U.S. Army veteran, Anthony earned the Sapper Spirit Award for his leadership and dedication. He holds a B.S. in Business Management with a concentration in Management Information Systems from The Southern University.
Tonita Webb, DBA, was named the CEO of Verity Credit Union in early 2021, the first woman and Black American to be named CEO in the organization's history. She continues to move Verity forward with a strong vision for harnessing financial tools, data, and technology, and a passion for DEI, to enhance the lives of underserved community members. As an Air Force veteran, a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA), and a mother of four, Tonita leads by example and gives herself freely to her community work. She currently serves on the boards of Filene Research Institute and the National Credit Union Foundation's FinHealth Fund Committee.

A customer-focused transformation executive, he brings more than 30 years of experience leading large-scale growth, insurance innovation, and digital strategy at companies including Allstate and Nationwide. Terrance holds a degree in risk management and insurance from the University of South Carolina and serves as an advisor to the Darla Moore School of Business and on the boards of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and Encompass Health.
